FUTURE RESEARCH

The most troublesome insect problem in Australia is the Western Flower Thrips. To have available a predator which could control the adult thrips would be a huge benefit to the industry. Research and development is currently being conducted into a possible Thrips predator called Orius, which could become available for commercial application in the near future. We are involved in this research and we shall keep you informed of any developments.

Apart from orius we would also hope that Australian Horticultural growers would be able to use Bumble Bees for pollination in Tomato crops and  Eretmocerus  spp for whitefly control.
